Can I switch between deployment options?
Yes. Both deployments run the same engine and data model. Today the move is manual: export your connection configurations and archived records, re-sync your sources on the new deployment, and reprocess journals. Planning a large move? Email support@clams.tech and we'll help.
What does Clams send to hosted services?
Whichever deployment you choose, your accounting backend, ledger, and reports stay on your infrastructure. Clams' hosted services handle sign-in (your email address), licensing and billing, and exchange rates. Your instance also connects to the wallets, nodes, and chain sources you configure. Nothing else phones home.
What's the same across both?
Everything that matters. Same Clams Server, same features, same interfaces. The only difference is where it runs and who maintains it.
Which interfaces work with which deployment?
All of them. CLI and Server work with every deployment option, plus a REST API for programmatic access. You choose the interfaces that fit your workflow.
