Now Free to Use | Clams v1.2.0

With v1.2.0, Clams is free to use. Sign in with any email address and run every connection, sync, and report, with no license and no limit on workspaces or profiles.

TL;DR: With the release of v1.2.0, Clams is now free to use. Sign in with any email address. There is no license to buy, no profile capacity to manage, and no limit on workspaces or profiles. Update with clams update.

Sign in and go

v1.2.0 removes the license and capacity checks from the binary. Once you're signed in, you can set up an installation, sync your connections, use Rates, and run any report. The pricing page covers how Clams works now.

Your login and workspace permissions still control who can see which books.

What's removed

clams license, clams instance capacity, and clams instance billing-owner are gone. Onboarding no longer asks about payment, checkout policy, or replacing an installation. If you already have an installation, run clams init to refresh your login and bind your local backend.

Checkout is closed, so new purchases and saved checkout pages return HTTP 410. If you bought a license before, you can still retrieve your invoices through the Auth API while signed in.

Update

clams update

1.2.0 is now the minimum supported client. Older clients keep their built-in license and capacity checks, so update every installation to drop the limits.

If you run your own Clams Server, upgrade it to 1.2.0 before you update your clients. The --max-workspaces-per-subject, --max-profiles-per-workspace, and --workspace-profile-limit options no longer exist, so remove them from your startup command if you use them.

The complete list is in the v1.2.0 release notes.
